Happy New Year to all of you! We hope you have not been overdoing it too much with the festivities and are feeling nice and fresh for the start of 2011. This is the time for everyone to make their New Years Resolutions which are usually broken by the first week in January! Our resolution is one that we hope will not be broken and that is to make the next 51 days and 12 hours the best ever for the Caprese Restaurant. Actually we only have 46 days left, taking away Sundays when we are not open so time is passing by really quickly now! So now we begin our countdown to closure and to go out with a real bang. We know that some of you who have booked in the next few weeks ahead will be making that your final visit to the Caprese before we are flattened so we hope to make it special for all of you.
Our New Year was wonderful but almost ruined before we started. Spent bringing in the bells at home with the family, Costanzo prepared a fantastic spread for us to devour as usual and above you can see a pretty photo taken of our New Year table decorated for the festivities. Things did not go without a hitch though! Whilst we were all gathered in the kitchen pouring champagne, one of Costanzo’s grandson’s said he could smell fireworks. Mad dash to the dining room where we found our beautiful table on fire! Not the greatest start to the evening having the house full of smoke and an inferno on your dinner table but we coped well and got the fire out without the help of the fire brigade! That’s a new dining room table, table-cloth and napkins now being added to the shopping list! After we calmed down with a glass of champagne we proceeded with enjoying our New Year with a beautiful meal, a few games of Tombola and a big fireworks display courtesy of Costanzo. We hope that your New Years celebrations went well and without any almost tragic events!
We are now re-opened for business as of today so we hope to see you all soon!
